It's cute and, fun but, it gets a little tiring in the hand the amount of scrolling you have to do to play the game. Even just to move you have to scroll so he can roll around. Still a fun game though!
Short, quirky, and mildly amusing, Hug Them Real Good is a pleasant way to start your day. What better way to spread love and joy to those around you than hugging strangers on a playground? The custom squeeze control, while I'm unable to use it, seems like a neat thing, and the isometric movement takes getting used to, but makes playing on the equipment fun.

The main issue which very annoyed me was the scrolling to accelerate. Took me too long to understand that, to the point I've almost ditched the game, and it's tedious and it's just takes out the fun. The idea however is fine.
I'm sorry that the splitting of movement and acceleration was confusing. It's definitely an issue we're aware of--people are often stumped in the beginning because the controls are pretty unconventional. It's an issue that we could've easily avoided with a few playtests but that's hard to do during a game jam haha. Thank you for persevering and playing anyway though!!
To implement hugging as a core mechanic spreads a very positive message and attitude, in my opinion. That's why I'm very glad you made this lovely game. Also, your choice of setting (the playground) and all the non-binary characters make it even better. <3 Simply a wonderful Train Jam 2018 entry, congratulations for that! :) And though you already know how much I appreciated it thanks to our article about it, I thought that it may be of interest for other itch.io users why we recommended this game as well. That's why I added our playthrough video to the comment. :) I hope to see more games made by you in the future!
The CUTEST and most HUMBLE game I've played recently! Loving that art style too! The hugging mechanic was a tad bit confusing with the scroll wheel at first, but once we found their sweet spot, we became true friends! 12/10 would make friends again
